Scripture Foundation:
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)
What Does It Mean “To Bear”?
The word “bear” in this scripture comes from the Greek word “hypophero” (ὑποφέρω), which means to endure, to carry under pressure, or to sustain a burden. It paints a picture of someone holding up under weight, not collapsing, not giving up, but standing even when it’s hard.
To “bear” something doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt, or that it isn’t heavy it means God has given you supernatural grace and strength to carry it without it breaking you.
When I Had to Bear It
There was a season in my life when I felt overwhelmed emotionally, spiritually, and even physically. I questioned, “God, how am I supposed to keep going?” Everything felt too big, too much, too soon. But every time I wanted to give up, I felt a small, quiet strength reminding me that He was bearing it with me.
It wasn’t in loud miracles or instant answers; it was in the peace that held me together when I should have fallen apart, in the friend who called and prayed when I couldn’t pray for myself, and in the scripture that came to mind when I needed a lifeline.
God didn’t remove the burden immediately ,but He carried me through it. And in doing so, He strengthened me, matured me, and helped me discover a version of myself I never knew existed, one who could endure, one who could grow, one who could help others through their own pain.
You Will Be Better After This
Whatever you are carrying today, remember this:
God would never allow it if it wasn’t going to make you better.
You’re not being punished, you’re being prepared.
This burden is not the end, it’s a part of your becoming.
So don’t lose heart.
Don’t give up.
Don’t let the weight make you forget the promise.
You were built to bear this not alone, but with the strength of the One who bore the cross.
You are going to make it, and not only that
You will come out wiser, stronger, and more compassionate than ever before.
